Is Time & Temperature Needed Anymore?

Does the world still need time and temperature telephone services? Afterall, we have the Internet now. But it's really the same issue we've heard for the last 100 years. Radio was going to kill newspapers. TV was going to kill radio. The Web is going to kill them all. Fact is, when a new way of delivering information comes along, we adjust our intake to include the new way – and keep using the "old ways" too. Same with time and temperature telephone services. Millions of calls per day are made to time and temp systems in the U-S, with millions more worldwide. Sure, you can bring up the weather on the screen of your smart cellphone, if you can look at it while driving. Or – in a fraction of the time – call a local time temp line. Listen to the information you want. Will the Internet eventually kill newspapers, radio, TV and time and temperature telephone services? No, but it will force some changes. A good example is our time and temp units – all Internet connected, with features that "old style" time and temp units from other manufacturers will never have. 7-2\10

Use The Best Tool For The Job

My father always told me that if there is a tool made for the job you're trying to do – use it. And – always get the best quality tools with the latest technology. We kept that in mind when designing our time and temperature systems. What do you see in older style T&T systems? First, they are either PC-based, or they are huge rack mount affairs. Second, they require you to run wires outside your building for their temperature sensor. And third – the manufacturers of these old-style systems claim that using the Internet in a time and temp system is a bad thing. 1) We designed our system to be solid state, on a fairly small circuit board for such an advanced device. You can still rack mount it if you want, but it's not necessary. 2) We also did away with the outside wiring (we'll leave aside the challenge of locating a temperature sensor outside so the sun doesn't shine on it!). By web-enabling our system – it's plug and play – plug it into your network, plug in the phone lines, and you're ready to go. 3) And finally, our systems make extensive use of the Internet, communicating regularly with our servers. They say the Internet is not reliable enough to base a time and temp system on? Actually many of the public's phone calls TO time and temp systems are going over the Internet – and most people aren't even aware of it. We find that our Internet connections these days are as reliable as "plain old telephone service." Time to get into the new millennium and use the technology that's available. Or as my father would have said – "the best tool for the job." 6-17-10

Telephone Time & Temperature equipment using the latest technology

You can trace the roots of telephone time and temp services all the way back to the 1930s. Back then, the time and temperature were given to callers by live operators. Believe it or not – some high-end hotels still provide these services – live – to their guests. But automation took over long ago – providing the time and temp to millions of callers per day, in communities across the world. Our company took the next step – using next generation Internet-based technology to reduce the cost of the equipment, while adding features never before possible. We're looking forward to the next step – watch this space for new products based on our technology. Coming soon! 6-1-10
